Fishing Trips
Fly into the trip of a lifetime, and get ready for the fight. Clear waters sport some of the best fishing in the world. Generally speaking, both Pike (Jackfish) and Pickerel (Walleye) are plentiful in June. Pike and Lake Trout are more popular in July and August, and reaching into September. Grayling can be caught at Little Doctor Lake, while Moose River is quite popular after the spring thaw, around June.

Fishing trips are a popular venture in the Fort Simpson area. A great choice is the Nahanni Mountain Lodge, a truly tranquil hideaway along the eastern shore of Little Doctor Lake, 60 miles west of Fort Simpson. This rustic lodge is a perfect setting for an exceptional outing. You can set your own schedule as you relax and enjoy the amenities and breathtaking scenery at your front door. Included in your stay are canoes, boats with motor and gas, paddles and life jackets for your excursions.

Moose River is another favourite – a fly-in fishing trip on the northern shore of Trout Lake. You are required to bring all your gear and necessities, as there are no services at this location (or talk to us about renting gear so you can pack lighter).
The pilot and plane will stay with you for up to 4 hours or until you are ready to return to Fort Simpson.
