NAILICHO EXTENDED TOUR INCLUDES STOP AT GLACIER LAKE

Starting with a flight to Nailicho (Virginia Falls), you'll have the opportunity to join a guided day hike to the top of the falls with Parks Canada interpreters. If you're feeling adventurous, you can also venture to the bottom of the falls on your own, ensuring you return within the allotted time to continue the journey.

Continuing north of the falls, you'll soar over Gahnihthah Mie (Rabbitkettle Lake), home to one of Canada's largest and oldest tufa formations. The aerial perspective will provide a unique view of this geological wonder, showcasing its intricate formations and natural beauty.

PASSENGER INFORMATION

Departures from Fort Simpson are scheduled from June to September, and passengers are required to check-in at your office by 08:00 am for departure. Passengers should be aware that departure times and flight routes are weather-dependent, ensuring the safety of the flight. Pilots will assess weather conditions and make decisions accordingly to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all passengers.

For payload limits, the Cessna 185 can accommodate up to 850 lbs with a maximum of 3 passengers, while the Beaver can carry up to 1100 lbs with a maximum of 6 passengers. It's crucial for passengers to provide accurate weights including gear to ensure compliance with these limits.

Regarding National Park Fees, Nahanni National Park Reserve day use fees will be collected at the time of payment. The fee is $31.75 per adult aged 18 years and older, with no charge for individuals aged 17 years and younger.

WHAT TO BRING

WATER

It's important to keep hydrated during the day. Fill up your water bottle before you depart Fort Simpson. There is no treated water available for visitors in the park.

SNACKS + LUNCH

Pack a lunch, snacks and drinks for the day. Fort Simpson has a grocery store, connivence store and two restaurants that offer take-out.

RAIN GEAR

Weather on the tour can change in the blink of an eye. Dress in layers and especially bring your rain jacket that will protect you from wind and rain if we encounter it on the stops.

GOOD WALKING SHOES

Grabs your runners or light hiking shoes. We will encounter board walk at Nailicho that quickly turns into uneven ground with roots and wet areas that can be slippery.

CAMERA

Cannot forget your camera on this trip! Remember to charge the battery or bring a back up. There are no opportunities to recharge while on the day tour.

EXTRAS

Remember there is a payload for the aircrafts so check in with your pilot if you are bring more then a back pack. 
You might want to bring a towel and a bathing suit for a quick stop and swim at Little Doctor Lake!
