Our lodge can accommodate up to 12 guests comfortably, making it the perfect destination for families, groups of friends, or corporate retreats.

4 Cabins

The main lodge has a full kitchen with propane refrigerator and stove and 2 queen bunk beds. 3 additional cabins with double and single beds. All cabins have power to charger your devices or if you need a little light later in the summer. Solar power or generator run the power for the lights and plugs. It is powerful enough to run a coffee maker or the toaster. Washroom facilities are pit toilets.

Fishing

Little Doctor Lake is home to some common lake species. Lake trout, pike, walleye. whitefish, Longnose sucker. burbot.

Boats + Canoes

There are a few types of boats to choose from. We have 4 motor boats powered by a kicker. We ask that you have experience driving this type of boat and carry a Pleasure Craft Operators Card which you can get online. There are also 2 canoes for those early morning paddles during the sunrise or to quietly watch the ducklings on the lake. All the safety equipment is available.

GETTING HERE

GETTING TO FORT SIMPSON

There are two scheduled air charter companies that land at the main airport in Fort Simpson. Both companies have daily arrival and departures except for Saturday's. Check out their websites for more information.

Fort Simpson is located on the Mackenzie Highway. Coming from Alberta you will want to travel highway 3 or from British Columbia on the Liard Highway (HWY 7). To get to Fort Simpson you will also need to cross a ferry on the Laird River. There are no fee's for the ferry.

GETTING TO THE LODGE

Check-in at the Simpson Air office at 9:00 am for departure updates. We will depart between 4:00 - 5:00pm MST on your departure day.

On your check-out day the float plane will arrive at 9:00am - 12:00pm MST for check out procedures and return you and your party back to Fort Simpson.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

FLIGHT TO/FROM LODGE

Our lodge is situated deep in the heart of Canada's wilderness. We offer visitors the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and connect with nature like never before. Getting to our lodge is part of the adventure! Flights to Nahanni Mountain Lodge depart exclusively from Fort Simpson. Once there, a short 30-minute floatplane ride will take you directly to our lodge.

LODGE + CABINS

All cabins and the main lodge are reserved for you and your whole group (max occupancy: 12). 9 Beds - 2 double bunk beds, 3 double beds, 1 single bunk bed.

FULL KITCHEN WITH REFRIGERATOR

Our main cabin features a fully-equipped kitchen with a propane fridge, stove and oven, as well as an array of spices and cutlery available for our guests. We also provide a variety of pots and pans, making it easy for our guests to cook up a delicious meal or an outdoor feast. There is also a propane BBQ with plenty of propane provided!

ACCESS TO BOATS AND FISHING TACKLE

Our lodge offers a variety of activities and amenities, including 2 canoes, paddles, bailers, throw bags and life jackets. We also have 4 motor boats available for your use, so be sure to bring your pleasure craft operators card and experience driving a boat on a lake.

WHAT'S NOT INCLUDED

FOOD AND ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES

We recommend purchasing all groceries and alcoholic beverages prior to your trip. Fort Simpson has a small grocery store, a convenience store and liquor store.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

We recommend that you purchase travel insurance to help protect you and your travel investment against the unexpected. Travel protection can include coverage for trip cancellation, trip interruption, emergency medical and emergency evacuation/repatriation, trip delay baggage delay and more.

PERSONAL ITEMS

Bring your favourite fishing rod and tackle, beach wear and don't forget to pack your clothing and toiletries and medications.

PAYMENT

Deposit

50% Deposit is required to reserve dates. We will begin taking deposits after April 1, 2024 for any bookings prior to this date. We accept visa, MasterCard, cash and cheque payment.

Final Payment

Balance of your stay is due on your check-in day before heading to the lodge,

Cancellation Policy

Bookings cancelled due to weather by Simpson Air or due to medical reasons (accompanied by a doctor's note) with notice are free of charge.

Cancellations with less than 7 days notice but greater than 4 hours notice, are subject to a charge of 25% of the rate.

Cancellations with less than 4 hour notice, or notice is not given and visitor(s) fail to arrive for the flight in Fort Simpson, are subject to a charge of 50% of the rate.

Bookings cancelled after departure of the aircraft in Fort Simpson or no one shows up in the community are subject to 100% charge of the rate.

Charters that are rebooked with less than 2 hours notice are subject to a flat-rate administration charge of $25.00.

Please Note:

All rates are per person and are quoted in Canadian dollars. Please add 10% gratuities to your experience.

Please check in with our office prior to booking your flights in/out of your home city and Fort Simpson.

All guests will be required to sign a liability waiver when booking.

We recommend all guests ensure they have emergency medical coverage prior to visiting the lodge.
